1. How do I apply for Housing?
An application for student housing can be downloaded by going to the Housing Home page and clicking on the “How to apply” link on the right column. You may download it, fill it out, and return it to us using the address or fax numbers listed on the application. Please visit www.nobts.edu/housing/howtoapply.html for additional important information about moving back to campus.
2. What are the requirements for housing?
Housing units are reserved for full-time students (Graduate: 9hrs; Undergraduate: 12 hrs.) in the primary Fall and Spring Semesters.

NOTE: Students transferring from an extension center to the main campus need to notify the appropriate admissions office in writing (Grad: admiss@nobts.edu; Undergrad: lcfacultysec@nobts.edu). b. Previously Enrolled Students (students who have taken a class in the last year). Previously enrolled students who are not taking classes this semester, but who are planning to take classes in the next semester must fill out a one-page, academic readmission form. This form can be obtained by e-mailing admiss@nobts.edu (Graduate) or leavelladmissions@nobts.edu (Undergraduate).
c. New Students. If you are a new student, you must complete the academic application process before you can apply for student housing. An application request is available at www.nobts.edu/Enlistment/CatalogRequest
4. How long does it take to be approved for housing?
All housing applications will be handled on a first-come-first serve basis. An application for housing is not active until the applicant has completed the academic admissions or readmissions process and is approved by the Registrar’s office to begin classes. It is the responsibility of each applicant to follow up on his/her academic application and to notify the housing office once final approval is given. Please do not submit an application until you are academically approved.
5. When or how early can I move in?
a. Fall Semester: Apartments and dormitories will be open for new move-ins on or after July 1st.

c. Housing will do its best to accommodate requested move dates but they can not be guaranteed. A move-in date will be given with your assignment. If the assigned move-in date does not work, you must contact Housing to set up other arrangements.

8. When do I pay my confirmation fee?
Confirmation fees are due at least 2 weeks prior to arrival date unless other arrangements have been made. When you receive your housing assignment letter, it will include the date on which the fee is due in order to secure housing.

10. Can I pick up keys after hours or on weekends?
In order to receive your key, you must plan to arrive on campus by 4:00pm. If, you are arriving on a weekend or during a holiday or after hours, you can pick up your keys from Campus Police at the Seminary Entrance Gate. You must come by the Housing Office the next business day to complete the check-in paperwork.

Each resident must pay the remaining deposit and pro-rated rent amount at check-in.

12. What can I have in the dorm room?
All dorm rooms may have mini-fridges and low wattage microwaves. All other appliances must be used in the kitchen.
13. Are pets allowed?
a. Apartments: No animals of any kind (exclusive of aquarium and small caged pets) are allowed in seminary-owned apartment units. Dogs, cats, and ferrets are NOT considered small caged pets.

14. Is there a campus meal plan?
a. The River City Cafeteria is open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday.

b. The New Orleans Café is open from 7am to 7pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 7am to 5pm Wednesday and Friday.
c. There is not a seminary meal plan but both of these dining options are available to everyone.
15. Do I have to move out during the summer or over winter break?
Residents are not required to move out over the breaks as long as they are registered to be a full time student in the upcoming semester.
16. Is there cable and/or internet?
All apartments and dormitories are cable and internet ready but residents are responsible for all costs and activation.

17. How do I turn on the electricity?
All single-family units (apartments, excluding Courtyard Apartments) will have to have the electricity transferred into the resident’s name. Please contact Entergy by calling 800-ENTERGY. This is the resident's responsibility prior to move-in.

18. Is there outdoor storage space?
a. There are no outdoor storage areas on campus. All stairwells and alcoves of all residential buildings must be kept completely clear at all times. NO outside storage of any materials (exclusive of bikes and grills) is allowed at any time.

19. Is there parking for each residential building?
a. Each housing unit is assigned one parking space. These spaces are located in front of each building.

b. All additional vehicles need to be parked in overflow parking areas located in various places on campus.
c. Trailers (camping, boating, moving, etc.) and trucks (other than pickups) must be parked in the designated parking area against the fence in the William Carey dormitory parking lot along the west side of campus and must bear an NOBTS decal.
