Women's Auxiliary

A tree is a remarkable creation. As it grows and matures, it provides protection from the elements; as it moves through the cycles of the year it provides blessings to the eyes of those beholding it. It also produces seeds from which other trees will grow. These trees will also provide other blessings and seeds. The cycle continues to repeat itself.

The Women's Auxiliary of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary is similar. The prayers and willing support of the members provide immediate benefit for this gateway opened by Providence and Prayer. The scholarships provided to student wives are the seeds planted to aid the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world.

Who?

The Women's Auxiliary has regular, donor, and life memberships. You may also choose to provide a full or partial scholarship. All women are cordially invited to become members and to encourage their friends to join as well.

Women become members of the Auxiliary because of their interest in theological education. They represent many areas of life but have a common goal of sharing the Christian message.

What?

Members of the Auxiliary covenant to pray for the seminary, its student body, and faculty. Program information that is provided makes these members some of the nation's best informed laypersons of spiritual leadership training.

Scholarships for student wives are financed by membership dues and special gifts. Scholarships are given to student wives who need assistance in obtaining a theological education. Through this organization, women have a vital part in educating spiritual leaders who will teach around the world in their witness for Christ.

When?

Meetings are held each year on the Seminary campus at regularly scheduled times. The Board of Directors and committees within the organization meet during the year for planning and implementing its purposes. All members and friends are encouraged to attend each meeting when possible.

Why?

Women are among today's most active missions and church leaders. The Women's Auxiliary provides a direct source for better understanding and becoming involved in theological education at the gateway opened by Providence and Prayer. Active support of the academic programs and provisions of scholarships through the Auxiliary makes it possible for New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary to be a vital force in promoting the Gospel.

Purpose

The Women's Auxiliary of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary is an important partner of one of the world's largest evangelical seminaries. The Auxiliary provides an organization through which women can express interest and be informed participants in training spiritual leaders for the world. It provides a number of scholarships for wives of students who wish to join their husbands in gaining the training needed for the ministries God has called them to share.
