Campus Visit F.A.Q.
When should I schedule my campus visit? The middle of the week tends to be a better time since chapel is in session Tuesday-Thursday and more graduate and undergraduate classes meet on those days than on Monday and Friday. You should also call at least two weeks prior to your desired visit. Our campus visit coordinator would like to schedule various things for you (such as sitting in on a class and having overnight accommodations) that require advance notice. Where will I be staying and what is it like? Our office building, Shepherd’s Corner, houses guest rooms for prospective students. Our rooms are much like a typical hotel room. Each room has bedding and bath linens provided and housekeeping service each day. Click here for pictures of Shepherd’s Corner rooms. Where will I check in?You will check in across the street from the seminary at Providence Guest House. They hold all of our guest keys and they are open 24 hours a day. You may check-in after 2pm. You will also check out at Providence Guest House and turn in your key. Check out is before 11am. Since this office is open 24 hours a day, you can contact them with after hours emergencies or concerns: 504-944-4455. What should I wear while I am there?Casual attire is appropriate. Most visitors will wear jeans or pants and a casual shirt. Your tour will be both walking and riding, so reasonably comfortable shoes are a good idea. Where can I eat on campus during my visit? You will be provided with a meal ticket for our on campus café and cafeteria. During the Fall and Spring semesters these eateries have the following hours. Café New Orleans:
Mon, Tues, Thurs: 7am-7:30pm Wed, Fri: 7am - 5:30pm River City Cafeteria: Tuesday – Friday: 7am-9:45am, 10:30am-1:30pm |
