About the FACTS Tuition Payment Plan

NOBTS works with NelNet Business Solutions to provide a tuition payment plan to students for a small enrollment fee and no interest.

A FACTS plan allows students to break their tuition into monthly payments rather than having to pay it all at the beginning of the semester.  It can be set up in one of two ways:

1. Through a Bank Account (ACH)

A student can have the payments automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account each month.  With this plan the immediate down payment is 20% (of the full amount) followed by 4 monthly payments of 20% taken out on the 5th of each month.  The only fee for using this plan is the $25 enrollment fee that NelNet automatically drafts from the account within 14 days of FACTS being set up.

Students CANNOT use a debit card linked to a checking account with the ACH plan because a debit card is regarded as a credit card.  You must have your account number and routing number to use the ACH payment.

2.  Through a Credit Card

A student can have the payments automatically charged to a credit or debit card each month.  With this plan the immediate down payment is 40% followed by 3 monthly payments of 20% taken out on the 5th of each month.  The $25 enrollment fee is taken out within 14 days of the plan being set up.  There is also a credit card convenience fee automatically added to the balance depending on what credit card is used.  The fee is usually between 2% and 3%. 

NelNet only accepts MasterCard, Discover and American Express.  They will NOT take Visa. 

Because of the credit card convenience fees, all students are advised to use checking or savings if at all possible.

Changes to your FACTS Payment Plan

No changes are automatically made once you have set up your FACTS payment plan.  If you drop courses, add courses, or receive any additional funds on your NOBTS account, your FACTS agreement WILL NOT automatically reflect these changes.

A student must contact the Financial Aid Office (financialaid@nobts.edu or 504.282.4455 ext. 3348) to make any changes to your FACTS agreement.  Each monthly payment is deducted from your credit card or bank account on the 5th of each month.  We must receive notification of a desired change by the 1st of the month to ensure that the change will occur before the next payment date.

 

Setting up a FACTS Payment Plan

You must be a current student with an IQWeb account in order to set up a FACTS payment plan.  If you do not have an IQWeb account, please contact the ITC Department on the New Orleans Campus at 504.282.4455 ext. 8180 and they will help you get set up. 

If you click on the FACTS Online link below, it will take you directly to the log in page for IQWeb.  After logging in to IQWeb, click on the FACTS Payment Options link under the Financial Aid tab on the left side of the screen.  There will be step-by-step directions to take you through the process of setting up a FACTS agreement.
