Prospective and First Semester Students

*Please note: NOBTS does not accept Federal grants or loans (such as Pell Grants or Stafford Loans).  Because of this, there is no reason to complete the FAFSA form.  We will not be able to process this form.

NOBTS offers a select number of scholarships each semester for first-time students attending the New Orleans campus (meaning you have never been a student at Leavell College, the main campus of NOBTS, or an NOBTS extension center).

Students who are awarded a New Student Scholarship must maintain full-time student status the entire semester of the award.  Full-time for main campus students is 12 hours for undergraduates, 9 hours for Masters level, and doctoral students must be actively enrolled.  Full-time status for Financial Aid purposes only includes on-campus, hybrid, and Saturday classes.  Internet courses, independent studies, and workshops DO NOT count toward full-time status.

Please submit the Prospective and First Semester Student Information Form by clicking on the link below.  This form will serve as your application for a New Student Scholarship.

  • The deadline for a Fall New Student Scholarship application is June 15th.  You will be notified by the middle of July if you are a recipient of an award.
  • The deadline for a Spring New Student Scholarship application is November 1st.  You will be notified by the first week or two of December if you are a recipient of an award.

If you have missed the deadline for a New Student Scholarship, will not meet the qualifications, or will attend an extension center during your first semester, we encourage you to check with your home church, association, and state foundation for possible financial assistance.  In addition, FACTS payment plans are available to allow you to break your semester tuition expense into monthly payments.  If you have additional questions about financial aid, please see the other information on our website and feel free to contact the Financial Aid Office at any time.

1 Corinthians 1:4-5 (NIV)
“[Thanksgiving] I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way—in all your speaking and in all your knowledge—”
