Weekend Graduate Classes
Why Have Weekend Classes?
Saturday classes are offered by New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary to make theological education accessible to graduate students who could not attend classes at other times. The Seminary has been offering Saturday classes for several years, and the student response has been very positive.
When Do the Classes Meet?
The classes meet for six hours on selected Saturdays --
Central time: 8:00 am - 11:00 am and 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm
Eastern time: 9:00 am - 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The classes usually involve from three to six Saturday meetings. Because there are fewer class meetings, the student assumes a greater burden for completing assignments between class meetings. Each of these classes requires more class assignments outside of class than a typical semester length class.
Please be aware that the dates for these classes may conflict with those of other courses. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that he or she is not registered for more than one class having the same meeting date and class time.
Where Are the Classes Offered?
The classes are offered by Compressed Interactive Video (CIV) at the North Georgia (Marietta, GA), Orlando, and Jacksonville extension centers and the New Orleans campus. Contact the Registrar's Office for registration: 1-800-NOBTS-01 or 504-282-4455.
Can I Earn On-Campus Credit in These Classes?
Students who wish to earn on-campus credit for a Saturday course must register for the campus course section (-01) and attend half or more of the class sessions on the main campus.
How Can I Get Textbooks for the Saturday Classes?
Textbooks are available by calling Lifeway Christian Store at 1-800-570-0250. Please identify yourself as a student of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. The 20% student discount on most textbooks also is available when you order your books by phone.
