Ten Steps to Moving In:

NEW, PREVIOUSLY ENROLLED, AND EXTENSION CENTER TRANSFER STUDENTS BEGIN HERE:

1. Academic Application. Apply for admission, readmission, or transfer to NOBTS.  New students, remember that the application process involves other people (i.e. your references, transcript requests, etc.) so begin this process as soon as possible to allow time for any unforeseen delays that may arise.

a. NOTE: Students transferring from an extension center to the main campus need to notify the appropriate admissions office in writing (Grad.: admiss@nobts.edu; Undergrad.: lcfacultysec@nobts.edu).

2. Academic Approval. Once approved you'll receive a packet from NOBTS containing your approval letter and housing application. You must be approved to register for classes before applying for housing.

THE FOLLOWING APPLIES TO ALL STUDENTS:

3. Student Housing Application. All academically approved students intending to take a full-time load (Undergrad: 12 hours; Grad: 9 hours) during the primary semesters (Spring and Fall) may apply for housing. An application for student housing can be downloaded from this page.  Click here to download the application for Singles HousingClick here to download the application for Family Housing.  Please download it, fill it out, and return it to us using the address or fax numbers listed on the application.  If the need arises, you may call our office and we will take your application over the phone.

4. Processing Requests.  Once your application for housing has been received in our office, the process of finding you a place to live begins. Here are some things to keep in mind:

a. Everything is contingent upon availability. If there is nothing available at the time you wish to move in, we will do our best to get you in as soon as possible thereafter.

b. You are not allowed to move in before a certain date each semester.  You must wait until after this time to move in.

5. Preferences. While we do take your preferences into consideration (i.e. requested move-in date, number of bedrooms, etc.), please note that we cannot guarantee these requests.

6. Assignment Time-frame. Under normal circumstances, we make assignments about a month prior to your move-in date. This allows you enough time to plan your transition and allows us enough time to prepare the apartment (i.e. painting, cleaning, maintenance, etc.)

7. Assignment Letter. You will receive an assignment letter in the mail. It will explain everything that you need to know about your new home and will include a floor plan.

8. Confirmation Fee. Your confirmation fee is due in our office about two weeks before your move-in date. This will become part of your deposit for your apartment and assures us that you do want what we have offered to you.  Please see the Rent and Fees page for a breakdown of rent and all related fees.

9. Connecting Your Power. You will need to contact Entergy at 1-800-ENTERGY ahead of time to have your utilities set up and running in your name. Please make sure you do this. It is your responsibility.

NOTE:  This does not apply to dormitories or Courtyard Apartments.  Electricity is included in the rent for these residences.

10. Arrival. We will need to know what time of day to expect you on your move-in date. If you will not make it to campus by 4:00 pm, we need to know this so that other arrangements can be made. Also, if this occurs, please remember to come by our office the next business day to fill out your paperwork and pay the rest of the deposit on your apartment.

Humility and the fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor and life.
