LATEST UPDATE: 9:00 AM 9/2/2012
Dear NOBTS Family,
Power in student housing held through the night. Although much of New Orleans is not back to normal, those who wish to return may. We still have some issues with campus power. Not all of the front block is up. I strongly advise those with families to wait until tomorrow and give another day for more progress to be made. The Dean of Students will be posting some suggestions for those who return (CLICK HERE to read these tips. Please look at those suggestions. I strongly encourage those returning to get a full tank of gas outside of the city, and if possible to also get or bring necessary perishable foods outside of the city as well. The campus is further along than the city as a whole.
God has been more gracious to our School of Providence and Prayer than I can describe. Our damage was light to moderate. Most of our tress and limbs that fell did not fall on homes or buildings. Our clean up list was longer than our repair list. Those repairs will be on going. All of us will need patience as we work our way back to normal. We must remember to pray for all of those who have been deeply affected by Isaac. Pray especially for our pastors and churches as the gather at the end of what has been a very frustrating week for the people of New Orleans. We look forward to seeing you back on campus!
Yours and His,
Chuck Kelley, ThD
