Counseling Services

Counseling Services for the NOBTS Seminary Family

Dr. Jeff Nave, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Board Approved Supervisor of Counselor Interns is the Director of Testing and Counseling and Associate Professor of Psychology Counseling. Dr. Nave teaches in the Psychology and Counseling Department and directs the seminary’s non-academic testing services.

In addition to Dr. Nave, the counseling center is staffed by select Ph.D. students who are Counselor Interns.  These Counselor Interns practice under the supervision of Board Approved Supervisors approved by the Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners.

Counseling services are biblically-sound and research-based.  Services include counseling for premarital and marital issues, parenting and family issues, crisis and grief, trauma, anxiety and stress, spiritual concerns, depression, sexual problems and sexual addiction, and life transitions.  Services are confidential, and our counselors can coordinate care with physicians and other providers.

Counseling Center services are free for NOBTS students, faculty, staff, and their immediate family members.
