How to Access the Campus Calendar

To effectively communicate and facilitate the scheduling of events, a master campus calendar is maintained by the Providence Learning Center. This calendar will help by minimizing the possibility of overbooking NOBTS facilities, inform Operations at all times of what is taking place on campus, inform Campus Police of all events on campus (especially events after normal business hours), and most importantly, communicating with Students, Faculty, and off-campus guests who desire to participate in an event.

If there is any question needed for the campus calendar, you can direct your communication needs to campuscalendar@nobts.edu or simply call the NOBTS phone line (504)816.8066. Before any event is scheduled on campus or facility, the individual must notify campus calendar so proper steps are taken in notifying the proper channels about the event. Every event requested will be on hold until proper authorization has been obtained. Please note that the campus calendar is separate from the Academic and Institutional Effectiveness Calendars.

Appropriate approval to hold an event should be sought through the established channels of Dr. Kelley, Dr. Lemke, or Dr. Corvin. Once approval to hold the event is secured, the Providence Learning Center should be contacted to secure the appropriate facilities. An event is not on the seminary calendar unless it is on the calendar maintained by the Providence Learning Center! Examples of events to be cleared through the campus calendar include workshops, conferences, student life activities, division special events, etc.

The Providence Learning Center is available to assist in planning, coordinating, and facilitating your conference or event. This office is equipped for this type of work and is more than willing to help. This office also facilitates a monthly campus calendar coordination meeting that anyone is welcome to attend. Please call ext. 8066 if you would like this assistance or if you would like to attend the next calendar meeting.

In establishing a master calendar for events, the campus calendar is here to simplify your work when you are planning an event. This should allow you to select the best setting for your conferences and events, and it should guarantee access to the facilities you need. Thank you for your help in this matter! Please note that the campus calendar is being maintained electronically at http://www.nobts.edu/calendar and will no longer be faxed to campus offices unless requested. You may call the ITC (816-8180) for info on obtaining Microsoft Outlook.
