Office of Financial Aid
The Financial Aid Office is dedicated to serving students and student families who are pursuing an education at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Our primary focus is to assist our students in making wise financial decisions that help them complete their education and honor God by being good stewards of their resources. If you want a quick way to start the Financial Aid process, look through the basic info provided in our brochure. *To avoid confusion about possible financial aid options, please do not complete the FAFSA form. NOBTS (including Leavell College) does not participate in programs such as the Pell Grant, Stafford Loan, or GradPlus loan. While NOBTS does not participate in loans through federal or in-house programs, we do have information on eligible student loan options through independent lending institutions. The Financial Aid Office offers several additional services to meet the needs of our students. We manage the NOBTS scholarship program with the goal of helping the greatest number of students possible who demonstrate financial need. Another service is the FACTS payment plan through NelNet Business Solutions. This program allows students to divide tuition into monthly payments to make the cost of tuition more manageable throughout the semester. In addition, students are encouraged to investigate the many outside-seminary sources of financial aid that are available from various corporations, foundations, and state conventions. Assistance with budgeting or financial concerns is offered through one-on-one meetings with the Financial Aid Director. We are available for financial counseling when emergency situations arise as well as when looking at long-term planning such as student loans. Another service offered through our office is an online listing of employment opportunities in the New Orleans area. We maintain a job board outside the Financial Aid Office with the same employment listings. Many employers in the area desire seminary students or spouses as employees because of the reputation for integrity and work ethic. We desire to help you in any way that we can, so please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
