Dennis Phelps brings to the classroom over 25 years of teaching at the seminary level in multiple institutions and contexts. His teaching has also included the contexts of India, Belarus, Indonesia, and the Far East. His preaching has extended to additional countries.
His interest centers on expository preaching, especially the original author’s intended meaning and purpose of the biblical text and its relationship to contemporary application and purpose. He is one of the founding members of the Evangelical Homiletics Society and has served twice as the guild’s president, as well as a member of the board and the executive committee.
He has served as an itinerant evangelist, staff evangelist, associate pastor, executive pastor, pastor, and interim pastor in Louisiana, Texas, Minnesota, South Dakota, Kentucky, and Arkansas, as well as a frequent conference speaker, revivalist, and workshop presenter.
He and his wife, Robbin, have two children and five grandchildren.
