Charlie Ray, Jr. has focused his research on the Gospel of John and Hebrews. He has spent most of his time in literary criticism, especially narrative criticism and linguistics.
In recent years he has been involved in making scholarship available to the teaching ministry of the local church by writing commentaries for Lifeway on Acts, the prison epistles, the pastoral epistles, among others. In his more than thirty years of ministry experience, he has served as pastor, interim pastor, conference speaker, and is active in the teaching and evangelism ministries of his church. He had his wife, Sheryl, have four adult children and six grandchildren.
