Michael Sharp has served in ministry as a worship leader and teacher for more than four decades. His eighty-plus original church music publications of sacred choral works and song arrangements for piano and keyboard have been used by churches throughout the U.S. As a worship educator, he is passionate about how corporate worship experiences hold the potential to teach about the character of God as well as encourage the spiritual formation of Christians in their pursuit of living out the gospel and sharing about the redeeming power of Christ in their communities.
His book on worship leadership focuses on helping church leaders consider important principles of worship planning for the congregation. His recent research has focused on the worship life of Cuban evangelicals in the midst of the recent great revival movement there. His devotional book based on worship principles from stories of the Bible is forthcoming. A frequent presenter on biblical worship at national conferences and seminaries around the world, he has a passion for encouraging church leaders in underserved areas. In his more than forty years of ministry experience, he has served as overseas IMB missionary/church planter, worship leader, and interim worship leader.
