Kathy Steele’s focus of work has been in the areas of clinical practice in training counselors, treatment of complex trauma, and biblical principles of counseling integrated with evidenced-based counseling methods, including current brain research. She also has a passion about the development of emotional health of ministers and church members, and the connection between emotional and spiritual health.

She is currently researching the various stages of how individuals (especially Christians) respond to difficulty and suffering, and how ministers and counselors could discern an appropriate response that best corresponds to the stage of response of the individual. She also is involved in training counselors in the Hispanic community locally and internationally. She served on the Licensed Professional Counselor’s Board for Louisiana for 10 years.

She and her husband, Ed, have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
