Bio

Gerald L. Stevens is Distinguished Professor of New Testament and Greek. His thirty-three year teaching career has included teaching awards, national research grants, and education travel overseas, including research in over forty world-class museums. His focus has been Greek language, Pauline studies, and apocalypticism. He has had an extensive writing career, including presentations at regional and national professional societies, journal and magazine articles, reviews, and multiple textbooks on the Greek language, with major commentaries on Revelation, Acts, and Romans.

He also is a computer, technology, and multimedia specialist, and avid photographer and videographer. As a result, his pedagogy in the classroom is completely technology driven. His classroom motto is: "Love the text, and she will love you back." His passion for teaching and for the biblical text is his most obvious characteristic always noted by his students. He has served local churches as pastor and interim pastor, as well conference speaker and consultant. He is a musician, and plays lead electric guitar in the praise band when at home. He is a songwriter producing his own original albums on iTunes. He is married to Jean Maddox Stevens. They have no children, but are blessed with three grown godchildren they adore.
