Caskey Center

The Caskey Center provides resources, including a designated number of scholarships, for ministers who serve smaller Southern Baptist churches in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Indiana.



What Caskey Scholarships Offer

  • Full tuition scholarships (up to $8,000 annually) for LBC, MBCB, ALSBOM, and SCBI bivocational and smaller membership church ministers for certificate, undergraduate or master’s study in any NOBTS delivery system in Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama (main campus, hybrid, extension, workshop, online).

  • Scholarship recipients in LA, MS, and AL also receive the Logos Silver Bible software package.

Eligibility Requirements

Louisiana

- Serve as paid staff (bivocational or full-time/part-time minister) in a LBC church with 250 or fewer in worship.

- Affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 (www.sbc.net/bfm2000/bfm2000.asp) and the Danvers Statement on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood (Danvers Statement).

- Engage in personal evangelism and submit reports on evangelistic activity.

- Be interviewed by a Caskey Center director.

-For Graduate level applicants: this must be your first theological masters degree in order to qualify. 

 

Mississippi

- Serve as paid staff (bivocational or full-time/part-time minister) in a MBCB church with 150 or fewer in worship.

- Affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 (www.sbc.net/bfm2000/bfm2000.asp) and the Danvers Statement on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood (Danvers Statement).

- Engage in personal evangelism and submit reports on evangelistic activity.

- Be interviewed by a Caskey Center director.

Alabama

- Serve as paid staff (bivocational or full-time/part-time minister) in a ALSBOM church with 150 or fewer in worship.

- Affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 (www.sbc.net/bfm2000/bfm2000.asp) and the Danvers Statement on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood (Danvers Statement).

- Engage in personal evangelism and submit reports on evangelistic activity.

- Be interviewed by a Caskey Center director.

Indiana

- Serve as paid staff (bivocational or full-time/part-time minister) in a SCBI church with 150 or fewer in worship.

- Engage in personal evangelism and submit reports on evangelistic activity.

Application deadline for the Fall semester is June 15th.

Application deadline for the Spring semester is November 15th.

 

Interviews

All applicants must be interviewed by a Caskey director in order to proceed in the application process. Caskey Center staff will contact applicants the month prior to the application deadline in order to schedule the interview. Interviews will be scheduled for the month before and the month of the application deadline. 

New Students

Before you can be interviewed for the Caskey application process, admission to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary or Leavell College must be finalized. Please forward your acceptance letter to caskeycenter@nobts.edu when received.
