MISSION STATEMENT

The Mission of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary Police is to strive for excellence in law enforcement that is consistent with federal, state, and local laws, as well as seminary regulations; to deliver high-quality, efficient, professional, and consistent services to all affiliates of the Seminary; and to provide a safe and secure environment for all members of our community that will improve the quality of life for our students, staff, faculty and visitors, and simultaneously encourage an atmosphere conducive to the overall Mission of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. We proactively seek to build and strengthen community partnerships and engage the community through education and awareness to meet these goals.

OFFICE INFORMATION

The Office of Campus Safety and Security reports to the vice president of business affairs and president of the seminary.  The Campus Police department works closely with all departments of the Seminary to ensure that safety policy and procedures are uniformly executed and conveyed in a clear and consistent manner to all the Seminary's students, faculty, and staff.

An officer is located at the main entrance to the seminary 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Uniformed Campus Police officers, a supervisor, and a director provide around-the-clock patrol and services to the seminary community.  All Campus Police officers are licensed by the Special Officer division of the New Orleans Police Department.  They have the same arrest powers as a New Orleans Police Department officer within the bounds of the Seminary jurisdiction.

Campus Police officers are responsible for a full range of safety services to the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary community, including all crime report investigations, medical emergencies, fire emergencies, traffic accidents, and enforcement of all Seminary security and business related policies.

All criminal activity, suspicious activity, and other emergencies on campus should be reported to the Office of Campus Safety and Security by any member or guest of the New Orleans Baptist Seminary community.  Please dial (504) 944-7711 for all emergency or service calls, 24 hours a day.  Campus Safety officers will meet you anywhere on campus to investigate and inquire about any of these events.  Please call (504) 944-4455 for all non-emergency business calls.

Daily Crime Log

Campus Police maintains a daily crime log that lists all reported crimes.  the log outlines the logistics of the crime (date, time, location), the nature of the crime, and how the crime was handled.

The Office of Campus Safety and Security is committed to working with the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary community to resolve all criminal matters in a timely fashion.  All members of the Office of Campus Safety and Security know that for this to happen they must cooperate and work hand-in-hand with administration, staff, and students of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  By working, together, the Office of Campus Safety and Security and the Seminary community can create a safe and secure environment.
