Born in New Orleans, Luke was adopted and raised in Laurel, Mississippi. He was born again in February 1998 and has served in ministry since 2001 as an itinerant preacher and pastor in the United States and cross-culturally on multiple continents. His dissertation research focused on the definition and terminology of martyrdom across church and missions history. Luke also played football for the University of Southern Mississippi, where he earned All-American and All-Conference honors for the Golden Eagles. Outside the classroom and pulpit, he enjoys reading, hunting, sports, traveling, and attempting triathlons. In 2006, Luke married the love of his life, Lauren, and they live in New Orleans.
