Bio

Personal and church evangelism, evangelistic preaching, revivals and spiritual awakening, pastoral ministry, and leadership are the disciplines of focus for the research, writing, and teaching of Dr. Preston Nix. Dr. Nix has forty-nine years of ministry experience. He served for thirty years in local church ministry prior to coming on the NOBTS faculty, ten years as a youth and college minister and twenty as a Senior Pastor in only two churches. In his nineteen years at the seminary, he has served as Interim Pastor fifteen times in thirteen different churches in LA, MS, and GA. Dr. Nix is a popular conference speaker and revival preacher across the SBC.

Dr. Nix models what he teaches. As a result, he regularly takes students out to do door-to-door evangelism and street witnessing in different communities throughout the city of New Orleans. He and his wife, Diane, have two daughters, Rebekah, a graduate of North Greenville University, who is married to Will Harrison and living in Greer, SC, and Rachel, a graduate of California Baptist University, living in San Diego, and pursuing a position in the music industry in Southern California. Diane ministers to women across North America, particularly pastors’ wives, through the ministry she founded, ContagiousJoy4Him.
