Bio

Personal and church evangelism, evangelistic preaching, revivals and spiritual awakening, and pastoral ministry are the disciplines of focus for the research, writing, and teaching of Dr. Preston Nix. Dr. Nix has forty-six years of ministry experience. He served for thirty years in local church ministry prior to coming on faculty, ten years as a youth and college minister and twenty as a Senior Pastor in only two churches. In his sixteen years at the seminary, he has served as Interim Pastor thirteen times in eleven different churches in LA, MS, and GA. Dr. Nix has been a popular conference speaker and revival preacher across the SBC.

Dr. Nix models what he teaches. As a result, he regularly takes students out to do door-to-door evangelism and street witnessing in different communities throughout the city of New Orleans. He and his wife, Diane, have two daughters, Rebekah who is married and living in SC and Rachel who is a senior at California Baptist University. Diane ministers to women across North America, particularly pastors’ wives, through the ministry she founded, Contagious Joy 4 Him.
