Charitable Remainder Trust

To establish this form of life income agreement, you need to make a gift of $50,000 or more to the Seminary. Income from your gift is paid to you, or another beneficiary you name, for life or a specified term of years.  Upon termination of the trust, the property remaining will be used by the Seminary for the purpose you have specified.  There are two types of charitable remainder trusts:

  • Unitrust:  Income fluctuates annually with the fair market value of the trust.
  • Annuity trust:  Income payments are fixed and determined when the gift is made, which is attractive to individuals who wish to avoid risk.
