CACREP Accreditation

 

CACREP-logo.jpg The Council for Accreditation of Counseling Related and Educational Programs (CACREP) is an independent accreditation agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. The vision of CACREP is to provide leadership and to promote excellence in professional preparation through the accreditation of counseling and related educational programs. CACREP is committed to the development of standards and procedures that reflect the needs of a dynamic, diverse, and complex society. CACREP accreditation provides recognition that the content and quality of the program has been evaluated and meets standards set by the profession.  The student, as a consumer, can be assured that appropriate knowledge and skill areas are included and that the program is stable, professionally, and financially. 

CACREP Accredited Programs

The MA in Counseling Specialization in Clinical Mental Health received CACREP accreditation on February 22, 2023.

The MA and MDiv Specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling received CACREP accreditation on February 22, 2023.

The PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision received CACREP accreditation on February 22, 2023.

The accreditation cycle for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling specialty areas and the Counselor Education and Supervision doctoral program runs through March 31, 2031.

Comprehensive Assessment Plans: Annual Reports

The MA in Counseling specializations in Clinical Mental Health or Marriage and Family and MDiv with Specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling  annual outcomes from the comprehensive program assessment plan are documented in the MA and MDIV Counseling Program Annual Report for review by interested persons.

The PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision annual outcomes from the comprehensive program assessment plan are documented in the PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision Annual Report for review by interested persons.

CACREP Vital Statistics Annual Results

MA in Counseling with Specialization in Clinical Mental Health

The vital statistics from the 2022-2023 Annual Assessment Report are now available. The MA in Counseling with Specialization in Clinical Mental Health is an 84 credit hour degree. In the academic year 2022-2023, 8 students graduated with the MA in Counseling with Specialization in Clinical Mental Health. The completion rate for the specialization is 50%. To predict our licensure pass rate, we use the results of the Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination (CPCE©), a comprehensive multiple-choice examination that covers the eight core CACREP areas. Of our 2022-2023 graduates, 100% exceeded the national mean score on the CPCE. The licensure exam pass rate for graduates of this specialization who responded to our annual graduate survey is 100%. The job placement rate for graduates who responded to our annual graduate survey was 100%.

MA in Counseling with Specialization in Marriage and Family

The vital statistics from the 2022-2023 Annual Assessment Report are now available. The MA in Counseling with Specialization in Marriage and Family is an 84 credit hour degree. In the academic year 2022-2023, 11 students graduated with the MA in Counseling with Specialization in Marriage and Family. The completion rate for the specialization is 41%. To predict our licensure pass rate, we use the results of the Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination (CPCE©), a comprehensive multiple-choice examination that covers the eight core CACREP areas. Of our 2022-2023 graduates, 100% exceeded the national mean score on the CPCE. The licensure exam pass rate for graduates of this specialization who responded to our annual graduate survey is 100%.The job placement rate for graduates who responded to our annual graduate survey was 100%.

MDiv with Specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling

The vital statistics from the 2022-2023 Annual Assessment Report are now available. The MDiv in Counseling with Specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling is a 93 credit hour degree. In the academic year 2022-2023, 0 students graduated with the MDiv in Counseling with Specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling. The completion rate for the specialization is 0%. The licensure exam pass rate for graduates of this specialization who responded to our annual graduate survey is 100%. The job placement rate for graduates who responded to our annual graduate survey was 100%.

PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision

The vital statistics from the 2022-2023 Annual Assessment Report are now available. The PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision requires 64 credit hours of study beyond a CACREP-accredited master’s degree. In the 2022-2023 academic year, 18 applications were received. 21 students were enrolled in the degree. Two (2) students graduated with the PhD Counselor Education and Supervision. The completion rate for the degree is 50%. The job placement rate graduates who responded to our annual graduate survey was 100%.
