Announcement for Residents of Carey, Hamilton, and Lipsey Dorms
The NOBTS and Leavell College administration have developed a plan to ensure the safety of students remaining on campus and living in dormitory spaces: Carey, Hamilton, Lipsey Halls. As promised we are continuing to assess the situation and being proactive in our decision making. As of March 13, 2020, there are still no presumptive positive cases of COVID-19 on the NOBTS campus.
We are moving our students to other campus housing for the remainder of the semester. The goal is to reduce the risk factor presented by shared communal space. The advantage of this move will be that it ensures the safety of all of our students by eliminating the common communal areas where contamination and risk will be highest. Moreover, this move will ensure that, in the event we have a confirmed presumptive case on campus, all of our students will be in living spaces where they can safely isolate from those who are infected.
The following plan is being implemented beginning on March 16, 2020. Everyone needs to be moved by March 23, 2020.
Residents should await a message from the Housing Office for their updated housing assignment on Monday, March 16, 2020. The Dean of Students office will remain a resource for any questions or concerns regarding this move.
Our facilities team and housing office are working diligently to ensure a safe and clean environment on campus.
